Acura is the luxury vehicle side of Honda. The brand provides premium cars, SUVs, sports (super) cars, as well as hybrid vehicles (MDX). As the brand struggles to compete in certain sectors due to satisfaction issues, one of the major benefits propping the manufacturer up is Honda’s reliable platforms.

HistoryAcura launched on March 27, 1986 in the US and Canada with their flagship vehicles: the executive class Legend and the compact Integra. The late 1980s were big for Japanese vehicle brands as Honda, Nissan (Infiniti) and Toyota (Lexus) — all developed luxury vehicles around the same time.
For the first few years of production, Acura boasted some of the highest sales within the US. After lackluster sales in the mid-to-late 90s, the brand saw success again in the early 2000s after a major redesign.
During the first full year of production, Acura sold 109,000 cars — 55,000 of them being Legends.
