Avoiding Common Car Seat Installation Mistakes

Car seat installation may seem to be a simple task, but for many this is not the case. In fact, 4 out of 5 car seats are installed incorrectly. If you’re preparing to be a first time parent, you may be panicking at this point…and with good reason. Here is a list of three common mistakes to avoid that will help you become the successful one out of 5:

  1. The car seat is too loose.
  2. The shoulder straps are at the wrong height and/or not tight enough.
  3. A rear-facing seat is too upright.

To ensure you have installed your child’s car seat correctly, find a car seat inspection station near you and have a professional check it out; doing so will help ease your mind and protect your child from potential danger.
